DESERT AIRE - If you're a normal human being, you're planning to have dinner this Friday evening. Consider having it at the Sage Brush Senior Center while doing a good deed at the same time.

The Desert Aire Citizens Patrol, in conjunction with the Sagebrush Senior Center, will be holding a benefit spaghetti dinner. It will be served from 5-7 p.m. at the Sagebrush Senior Center, 23 Desert Aire Drive.

Proceeds from the dinner will be dedicated to offsetting a new $2,900 fire suppression system needed at the senior center. It is a system that will provide foam, instead of water, for fires in the kitchen, Sage Brush President Kathy Meredith said, and it needs to be installed by the end of May.

This will not be just any old spaghetti dinner. It will be topped with world-famous Bonander Spaghetti Sauce.

Bonander Spaghetti Sauce is home made by Desert Aire residents Larry and Nancy Bonander. They are called upon frequently for Desert Aire special events.

"It is great homemade sauce," Meredith said.

The spaghetti and Bonander Spaghetti Sauce will be accompanied by garlic bread, fresh salad and dessert. Visitors my bring their own drinks.

There is no set charge for the dinner, Meredith said. Visitors will be asked to donate what they believe the dinner to be worth or an amount they believe would aid the cause.

"We hope many will join us for this fun community event," Meredith said. "We need your help."
