MOSES LAKE - The City of Moses Lake recently released proposed building plans showing there's interest in bringing a new three-story hotel to the city.

Moses Lake Hotel Partners of Liberty, Mo., recently submitted an environmental review to the city that would bring a Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott hotel to 2420 S. Maiers Rd., according to city documents.

The building proposal would bring a 45,640 square foot structure to the Maiers Road location.

The hotel plan includes 84 rooms, 86 parking spaces, food preparations and a breakfast area, a pool, meeting rooms, laundry facilities and a patron market.

No building permit has been issued yet, but the city projects construction on the hotel will start "as soon as possible," with construction expected start sometime during the summer, according to the city.

The city received and reviewed the project proposal for "probable adverse environmental impacts" and is expected to issue a Determination of Non-Significance (DNS) for the project, according to city documents.

Comments on the proposal will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Monday.

People who want to be keep up-to-date on future actions or the final decision on the proposal can provide their name and address to the project's planner.
