Reynaldo Alvarado Sr., longtime resident of Moses Lake, Wash. passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, May 3, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born to Regino and Juanita Alvarado in Mathis, Texas on Oct. 30, 1932, he was one of ten siblings. Rey served his country proudly during the Korean War era. He met the love of his life Carmen in Mathis and soon after they married. They started a family and moved to Moses Lake in 1964 where they called home until 2009. He retired with the Washington State Department of Transportation. There they raised four wonderful boys. He enjoyed watching them grow up and loved following them play baseball and umpiring. He was so proud of his sons and cherished the great memories they made. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren. He especially enjoyed fishing and family BBQs along with spending time sharing family stories. He loved watching the Mariners and the Seahawks and we always shared great conversations about them.
