ROYAL CITY - Royal High School's students of the month for March were named last week by counselor Mark Kondo.

They are freshman Yajaira Michel, sophomore Bianca Castellon, junior Araceli Barragan and senior Hannah Larson. They were selected by the teaching staff off of a list of nominations compiled by Kondo.

Students are considered for student of the month for a number of reasons, including their academic performance, their leadership and their citizenship.

Michel is the daughter of Maria G. Valencia. She lives by the philosophy of reaching toward her goals no matter how difficult that reach that may be.

"Nothing is impossible," she said. "The word impossible spells out: I'm possible."

Michel has no favorite school class, nor a favorite TV show, but she likes the movie "Mazerunner." And she has no favorite food because she likes all foods.

Bianca is the daughter or Ana Hernandez and Abel Castellon. Her favorite classes are accounting and leadership.

Bianca likes the TV program "Insurgent" and the movie "Teen Wolf". She loves pasta and enjoys the song "Hips Don't Lie", by Shakira.

Bianca's favorite quote is: "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard enough."

She advises friends to treat others the way you want to be treated.

Araceli's parent are Sergio and Araceli Barragan. She loves enchiladas, and she enjoys watching "Chopped" on the Food Channel.

Araceli likes English class, enjoys the movie "The Vow" and appreciates volleyball.

"Stop whining; Start doing," she advised.

"My parents inspired me because they have worked for everyting they have," she said.

Hannah is the daughter of Michelle and Aaron Schonewald.

Hannah is moved by the quote: "It's not about the years in the life; It's about the life in the years."

"Happiness is a choice," she said.
