ROYAL CITY - Participants at the Spring Field Day, the season-opening tournament at the Royal Golf Club, enjoyed a sunny, 70-degree day and a slight breeze.

"It couldn't have been any nicer," Pro Randy Puetz said.

The winning team in the four-man scramble, which scored a net 58.1, included Joel De La Torre, Dennis Clark, Steve Dober and Michael Zuidema.

That group edged out the team of Pete Christensen, Riley Christensen, Aaron Christensen and Chris Orthman, which carded a net 58.6.

Orthman was the closest-to-the-pin winner. Mario Salazar took the long drive contest, and Pablo Villarreal took the longest putt contest.
