MATTAWA - As Easter approaches, many people are reminded of the great stories of Jesus Christ: his death on the cross and his rising from the dead.

For the Mattawa-Desert Aire communities, the Saddle Mountain Bible Church, Riverside Community Church, and Grace Lutheran Church are working together to provide an experience of these great events. According to Riverside Pastor Dennis Evans, they invite the surrounding communities to join them for worship and fellowship.

A Good Friday service for the community will mark the crucifixion of Jesus. This worship will be held at the Riverside Community Church, at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 3. It will be led by Pastor Dale Larson of the Grace Lutheran Church.

The address for the Riverside Church is 5 Desert Aire Dr. SW, just off Highway 243, near the main entrance to Desert Aire.

A brief, open air Easter Sunrise service for the community will be held at the Desert Aire boat launch at 7 a.m. on Sunday morning, April 5.

This will be followed by the Community Easter Breakfast at the Senior Center in Desert Aire (The Sagebrush Center) at 23 Desert Aire Dr. SW.

The three churches will have their own individual worship services for Easter in their own facilities. They all worship at 10 a.m. every Sunday morning.

This celebration of Jesus is a great tradition. Area residents and visitors are invited to take part in it. For more information, call someone from one of the two congregations.
