Joseph C. Jurgens Sr., 75, of Soap Lake, Wash. passed away quietly at 8:30 a.m. on March 13, 2015, at his home in Soap Lake. In attendance were his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Jurgens was born on August 20, 1939 to George and Edna Jurgens of Cashmere, WA. The family moved to Lakeview Park in 1949 and into the city of Soap Lake in 1950.

He married Elizabeth Jeanne George on September 5, 1959 in Soap Lake. They were married for nearly 40 years until her passing on July 8, 1999. During that time, they lived in various locations in eastern and western Washington state.

Mr. Jurgens was preceded in death by his father, his mother, and his wife, Betty. His is survived by five children: Elizabeth Wilson of Prosser, Wash., Edna Boryk of Ephrata, Wash., Joseph II, Thomas, and Eric Jurgens all of Soap Lake; two brothers, James and Paul Jurgens of Soap Lake; a sister, Georgianna Polaski, of South Carolina; and numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Valley View Memorial Park on Saturday, April 25 at 11:00 a.m.

He will be greatly missed.
