Royal High School announces February students of month

ROYAL CITY - Freshman Vanesa Prado, sophomore Eva Garcia Sanchez, junior Carson Gilbert and senior Rosalexi Rodriguez were recognized as Royal High School's students of the month for February by the teaching staff.

The names were submitted to the teachers on a list of nominees determined by counselor Mark Kondo.

A number of character traits, including academics and citizenship, were considered.

Vanesa is the daughter of Marisol Reyes and Neftali Prado. Her favorite class in school is leadership.

Vanesa's favorite movie is "The Fault In Our Stars", and she likes the song "Thinking Out Loud." She loves French fries, and her favorite activities are drawing and reading.

Eva's parents are Eva and Carlos Garcia. She really enjoys algebra class. Her favorite television show is "Mi Corazon Es Tuyo (My Heart is Yours)".

Eva loves tacos and listening to music. She advises others to "keep reaching for the stars."

Carson's parents are Kyle and TyRee Gilbert. He especially enjoys history class. He likes to watch Sports Center and eat enchiladas.

Carson's favorite activities are football, basketball and baseball. He is inspired by his mother and father and Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

"Give your full effort all of the time, and things will work out," he says.

Rosalexi is the daughter of Hector and Angelica Rodriguez. Her favorite class is physics, and she enjoys watching "Untold Stories of the ER".

Rosalexi loves enchiladas and she enjoys cooking, volleyball and golf. She adheres to the Ida Scott Taylor quote: "Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering."
