ROYAL COMMUNITY SUPPORT

| March 25, 2015 6:00 AM

glad doesn't cover writers love of city

I have always been glad and even bragged about growing up in Royal City. Now that I am raising my family in Royal City, there are moments where I realize the understatement in the word "glad."

It is a rare, unique and incredible opportunity to be a part of a community like Royal City.

I wanted to write an editorial last year during this time to say thank you to all the community businesses and farmers (and I am sure even those I haven't contacted) that donated so willingly to a drawing for the teachers during Teacher Appreciate Week.

I have been given the opportunity to collect donations on behalf of the PTO, for the teachers this year, and the support is again pouring in. People are asking if they can do more and are exceeding my already, high, expectations.

This community, no matter the time or situation, steps up when needed with more than usual generosity.

We are lucky to live in a place where we are surrounded by the pioneers and legacy of our area. We can learn from and live with the men and women whose sweat and sacrifices have made our community great.

I hope as a next generation parent, I can teach and show my kids how lucky they are to live in Royal City.
