August 14, 1947 - March 14, 2015

Karen Joy Scheble Dazell, 67, passed away peacefully in Spokane, Wash. at ManorCare on March 14, 2015.

Karen was born August 14, 1947 to Don and Faye Scheble in Wenatchee, Wash. and moved to Moses Lake by 4 years old. She attended grade school, junior high and then graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1965 along with her soon-to-be husband, Jim Fischer. She passed on many great memories from this time in her life, with many great friends she shared them with. One of those memories was a run for Miss Moses Lake that she insisted was just for the experience and the fun of doing it with her friends, but that she had absolutely no talent - another Karen story! Married in 1968 in Virginia after Jim got out of the Army, they then moved back to Moses Lake in 1969 where they settled and had their only child, Dani, in 1972.

In 1985 Karen met Bob Dazell and they married the next year in Spokane, Wash. where they lived until 1987 when they moved back to Moses Lake and lived there until 1990. As Bob was a truck driver, they traveled for some time then settled in Ellensburg so she could complete her degree at Central Washington University which she received for teaching. Again, so many great memories from this time in her life, she absolutely loved being a student again and having a goal - one that she achieved in spades!

She received her Masters Degree from Central and got offered an incredible opportunity to teach at Walla Walla High School. This time in her life is where she shined - she touched so many people's lives from students to colleagues. This by far was her most treasured and remembered time towards the end of her life. From accounting classes to FBLA, to many sporting events, from students to fellow teachers, this was where she loved to be! I cannot explain how much her time teaching at Walla Walla meant to her - it honestly defined her life and meant the world to her. Thank you to everyone who touched her life as much she touched theirs, she had some fabulous friends and she loved them dearly.

She retired in 2013 to move to Moses Lake to be close to her daughter, son-in-law and grandkids. She was diagnosed with cancer in March 2014 and had much, much too short of time with her family, but the time she had was incredibly special.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Dani and Jason Archer, grandkids Brodee and Ledger Archer, son and daughter-in-law (and great friend) Eric and Angie Dazell, grandkids Nathan and Emily Dazell and of course Cookie the cat. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Bob.

Per her request there will be a closed ceremony for her immediate family. You are welcome to raise a glass of sweet white wine, tell a "Karen Story" and celebrate her life.
