BEVERLY - A Grant County Sheriff's Deputy patrol car and a deer collided Friday morning near the Wanapum Village, and the deer died.

Deputy Keith Edie was on his way to his office in Ephrata when the collision occurred. He was uninjured, Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones said.

Edie was driving northbound on Highway 243 near Wanapum Village Lane SW at about 6:45 a.m. when he struck a deer which had run onto the highway.

Edie's 2006 Ford Crown Victoria patrol car sustained front end damage.
