ROYAL CITY - The Royal City United Methodist Church has postponed its annual spring Chili Feed until this fall.

Church spokeswoman Alice Parker said the church found itself with a heavy schedule of spring activity and had to make the change.

"Somebody said chili is a cool-weather food anyway," she said.

Parker expressed thanks to the community for coming to our past chili feeds and supporting the church's maintenance program.

"Several upgrades have been accomplished," she said.

Recent upgrades include new flooring in the downstairs, a new electrical panel box for safety reasons and a new furnace and air conditioning unit.

Paneling was replaced with drywall, and a new paint job has made the downstairs more bright and welcoming. The Church's next big project is to make the church handicap accessible.

Parker said information will be forthcoming as to the date and details chili feed later this summer or fall.
