Chester Walton (Chet) Paine

March 10, 1924 - March 3, 2015

Chet passed away peacefully with his children by his side March 3, 2015 at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, Wash. after battling influenza and congestive heart failure. Born March 10, 1924 in Wareham, Massachusetts, he enlisted in the Navy and flew missions with the Naval Air Force in the Pacific during WWII. After the war, he settled in the Northwest marrying Eileen Breuer from Bellingham and raised five children.

He is survived by his children Tom Paine, Joanne Burnett, Patti Paris, Jan Axelson and Jim Paine, along with their spouses and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as Yvonne and Nina.

In 1964 he moved his family from Spokane to Moses Lake where he bought the local "Dog N Suds" Drive In and changed the name to "Chet's" where the family worked with friends and had many loyal customers through the sixties and seventies. After selling "Chet's" he opened the "South Shore" which he owned and ran for several years before his retirement. After losing his wife and mother of his children in 1990, he enjoyed the remaining years traveling and enjoying life before settling in Wenatchee. He served as a member of the Moses Lake City Council for several years, enjoyed church and his favorite hobby, golf, as a member of Moses Lake Golf and Country Club.

There will be no service. Donations to Hospice where he worked as a volunteer would be appreciated. Please express your thoughts and memories on the online guest book at jonesjonesbetts.com. Arrangements are by Jones & Jones-Betts Funeral Home.
