Notice is hereby given that Grant County has issued a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Grant County International Airport Employment Center Planned Action. Grant County issued a Determination of Significance (DS) on February 13, 2015 and conducted a scoping meeting on February 25, 2015. Based on the EIS Scoping process, the DEIS evaluates three potential development alternatives within the project boundary. The DEIS addresses the following elements: earth, air quality/greenhouse gases, water resources, plants and animals, environmental health, noise, land use/relationship to plans and policies, aesthetics/light and glare, historic and cultural resources, transportation, public services and utilities. For each of these elements an analysis is provided and potential significant environmental impacts attributable to Alternatives 1 and 2 are reported. Where potential significant impacts are identified, options for mitigation have been provided. The DEIS may be reviewed online at http://www.grantcountywa.gov/Planning/; likewise, hard copies of the DEIS can be reviewed
at the Port of Moses Lake Office, the Grant County Planning Department in Ephrata, and at the North Central Regional Library in Moses Lake. Comments on the DEIS must be submitted to the Grant County Planning Department no later than 5pm on Monday, July 27, 2015. Comments must be sent to the Grant County Planning Department, 264 West Division Ave, PO Box 37, Ephrata, WA 98823 or submitted via email to dhooper@grantcountywa.gov. If you have any questions about the DEIS or how to make comments, please contact Damien Hooper at the Grant County Planning Department at (509) 754-2011, ext. 2501.
