OTHELLO - A Mattawa woman was hurt when the car in which she was riding collided with a truck on Highway 26 on June 5, fourteen miles east of Othello.

The collision occurred at about 6:40 a.m. Neither drugs nor alcohol were involved. All vehicle occupants were properly restrained.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Tracey Ocampo, 22, was a passenger in a 2004 Chevrolet Aveo driven by Sodapop J. Dunn, 24, of Clarkston. They were westbound behind a 2004 Freightliner tractor and trailer.

The truck was driven by Budd E. Richards, 53, of Hermiston, Ore. According to the WSP, Richards was making a left turn onto southbound Klum Road. Dunn attempted to pass the truck, but his car struck the trailer on the left side.

Ocampo was taken by ambulance to Othello Community Hospital. Both vehicles sustained reportable damage.

The WSP cited Dunn for unsafe passing.
