Elsa Agnes Rauter

November 14, 1917 - May 13, 2015

Elsa Agnes Rauter, born Nov. 14, 1917 in Dryden, Wash., was residing in Hood River, Ore. with her granddaughter Rhonda at the time of her death on May 13, 2015.

Her parents were Katharina and John Trautman. She was a high school graduate who married Royal Reuben Router on June 20, 1937. They spent 75 wonderful years together traveling all over the states going fishing and hunting; this is what they loved to do. They resided in Warden, Wash. for most of that time.

Royal passed away on Oct. 1, 2012. Elsa always knew she would probably survive him since there was nine years' difference in their age. This did not bother her; she would carry on just fine but miss him terribly.

She was survived by her daughter Jeri Erstad, her granddaughters Rhonda Chapman and Sheryl Miller and grandson Troy Rauter, as well as five great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her grandson, Robert Chapman, her son James Rauter and her husband Royal Rauter.

The service will be held at Warden Community Church at 2:00 p.m. by Pastor Ed. Reception to follow afterwards.

Interment will be Monday, June 15 at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers please give all donations to Warden Community Church. That is what Grandma would have wanted.

She was in good health and died of natural causes in the end. Grandma was our compass and our inspiration, and we, her family, hope to follow in her footsteps.
