Brinlee Doyle, 3 years old, caught her first fish, a rainbow trout at Clearlake with her dad, Brian Doyle, on May 26. She was using PowerBait to entice the fish. Brian is a staff sergeant and flight engineer with the 36th Rescue Flight.
Free Fishing Weekend is coming up this Saturday and Sunday. In honor of National Free Fishing Weekend, which is June 6 and 7, you can fish in Washington State without purchasing a license.
The Potholes Recreations Area is blooming with catchable fish. Warden Lake, Canal, Windmill and Heart Lakes all continue to produce limit level trout using Power Bait. The Pillar Widgeon Lake area is a magnificent walk-in area on the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge. Soda Lake has also been fantastic at producing walleye limits for boat fishers.
