Ella N. Forsyth

A 60-year resident of Moses Lake, Ella N. Forsyth passed away in a Spokane hospital on July 28. Viewing will be held from 10 to 10:45 a.m., Monday, Aug. 3, 2015 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Stake Center, 1515 S. Division Street. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the Stake Center. Interment will be in Pioneer Memorial Gardens. Please sign the online guestbook or leave a note for the family at www.kayserschapel.com. She was born in Spanish Fork, Utah to parents Arthur E. Nelson and Eva McKell Nelson, on July 10, 1918, one of eight children. Raised in Spanish Fork, where she met William (Bill) J. Forsyth from neighboring Springfield High School. They married July 3, 1936 in Havre, Mont. where Bill was employed with Utah-Idaho Sugar Co. 44 years later Bill retired from U-I Sugar in Moses Lake, and they enjoyed retirement activities of travel, golf, dancing and their callings in the LDS church. They were married for 70 years and sealed for time and eternity in the Seattle Temple in 1991.

After Bill passed away in 2005, Ella moved to the Monroe House in Moses Lake where she enjoyed time with fellow residents, House activities, and serving many years as President of the Residents Council. Ella was known for her sense of fashion, gracious thoughtfulness, computer skills and love of family and studying the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Ella was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, and grandson Ryan Forsyth. She is survived by sister Connie Jones, St. George, Utah; sons David (JoAn Daniels Brown) Seattle, and Peter (Kathryn Genteman) Spokane; grandchildren Brent (Jacquie), Monterey, Calif and Meghan (Austin) Forsyth, Los Angeles, Calif and new great-grandson Hudson Ryan; five Daniels-Brown children, including her unique friendship with Dallerie and great-grandson Alex Daniels-Brown and 16 other Daniels-Brown grand and great grandchildren and special niece Diane Forsyth Ward, Spokane.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Samaritan Hospital Foundation, 801 E. Wheeler Road, Moses Lake, WA 98837 or other Moses Lake charities of choice. A special thank you is extended to the administration and caregivers at the Monroe House.
