June 13, 1930 - July 8, 2015

Shirley S. Graham, 85, of Moses Lake, Wash. passed away July 8, 2015 in her home at Hearthstone Assisted Living with loved ones by her side. She passed peacefully into heaven to be with her Lord Jesus Christ.

A Memorial Service will be held at Lakeview Missionary Church on August 16, 2015 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Matt Baughman officiating.

Mrs. Graham was born June 13, 1930 in Meridian, Miss. to parents John Weeks and Lena Byron (Westbrook) Stanton. She was the last surviving sibling, preceded in death by Lee Stanton (brother), Mary McLemore (sister), Jack Stanton (brother) and Toby Stanton (brother) and husband Butelle Graham. Her family always thought that Shirley, being the "sickly child," would go first but she fooled them all!

She is survived by daughters Kathy and husband Jon Lunderville, Penny and husband Donald Godwin, stepson Ronnie and wife Tulla Kreger and stepdaughter Joy Adams; 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Shirley loved spending time with her family and made many friends easily wherever she lived. Shirley was one of those "rescued" after hurricane Katrina devastated the southern states, relocating at that time to Moses Lake to be close to family. She had a love for music, dancing, painting, beautiful flowers, being a homemaker and she loved cooking southern cuisine. Shirley was one of the original painters for a company in Mississippi called Gail Pittman Designs where she helped Gail and other co-workers develop patterns and paint designer dinnerware that is sold all over the world.

She loved listening to music and she spoke about dancing the Jitterbug and waltzing the nights away in her younger years. Most of her oil paintings depicted the beauty found in nature.

Shirley's family wants to thank Hearthstone Assisted Living for their loving care they provided as well as the friendships tendered. We also want to thank Dr. Irene Kimura and her staff for going the extra mile for Shirley, Thank you to Assured Hospice staff and nurses for their excellent service and a Thank you to Carver Family Funeral Home for helping with final arrangements.
