Edward Lee Mattson

June 20, 1946 - May 28, 2015

Edward Lee Mattson "Big Ed," 68, of Ephrata, died May 28, 2015. Ed was born on June 20, 1946 in Everett, Wash. Ed, a Washington native, spent a lifetime working the circuit on both the Skagit Valley and Sky Valley Speedways. Ed was known in Snohomish County by many and always had a joke to share. He enjoyed working on classic cars, collecting, and horse trading.

He was preceded in death by his brother William "Bill" Mattson and his Aunt Lee Johnson, who raised him for the majority of his life. He is survived by his sister Lois Mcintosh along with many friends and family. Ed enjoyed spending time with his ex-wife Kay Mattson and two step-children, Spencer Willard & Michelle Goetz. His grandchildren Jarett (8) and Reagan (3) Goetz could always make him smile. A memorial will be at the Ephrata Legion on July 25, 2015, at 2 p.m. The Legion auxiliary will help with the potluck.
