MATTAWA - Mattawa Comm"Unity" Days is set for August 14-15, and the organizing committee is seeking participation from farmers and businesses.

August 14, a Friday, will be Kids Day in Hund Memorial Park. It will be sponsored by the Iglesia de Fe en Cristo Church.

The Comm"Unity" Days main event will be celebrated the following day in Hund Memorial Park.

The committee's goal is to bring the community together for celebration and unity.

Farmers and businesses are invited to participate in the parade. They are encouraged to set up booths to promote their businesses. Another option is the donation of prizes for competitions or raffles.

Farmers and businesses are also asked to help support the free Saturday morning breakfast in Hund Park. Needed are pancake mix, liquid eggs, frozen precooked sausages, fruit, juice, water, syrup and butter. Also needed are disposable plates, napkins, forks, knives and cups.

Another option would be financial donations. They would be used for breakfast items and setup, to purchase gift cards as raffle prizes. You can specify how you want the committee to use your donations.

If you would like to participate in any of the above mentioned ways or in any other way, you are asked to contact Mattawa City Hall staff at 932-4037 or Maggie Celaya at 830-7117.
