Stephen Douglas Rosenow

February 27, 1945 - July 6, 2015

Family and friends lost a beloved man on July 6, 2015 with the passing of Stephen Douglas Rosenow, age 70. He was born at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Yakima, Wash., the eleventh child of David and Hilda Rosenow. Stephen (Steve, to family and friends), passed away peacefully at the home of his sister, Carolyn Allen, in Coeur d' Alene, ID after a battle with cancer.

Steve grew up on the family farm in the Yakima Valley where he learned how to work at a very young age. He attended school, both his elementary and junior high years in Wapato, Wash., but graduated in 1963 from Moses Lake High School, when the family moved to Moses Lake in 1959. After graduation, Steve joined the U.S. Army and served two tours in Viet Nam. He worked many years at various construction projects and finished his working career at Hanford Nuclear Reservation after fourteen years.

Survived by two daughters, Ceida Marie Rosenow, Pasco, Wash.; Maureen Hilda (Josh) Ramirez, Moses Lake, Wash.; grandchildren: Nikolas, Brittnee, Alex, Josh Jr. & Olivia; sisters: Carolyn Allen, Coeur d' Alene, ID., Geri Varney, Daisy, Wash., brothers: Allan, Gary (Diana), and Mike (Doris) Rosenow, all of Moses Lake, Wash., numerous nieces and nephews and a very special aunt, Aunt Marie Rosenow, Milton, Wash. Steve's love and devotion for his family and friends was paramount in his life. His loyalty, respect, and love for his long-time friends was enviable, and their reciprocating feelings toward him, meant everything to him.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Richard, Maurice,, and Ronald Rosenow, and his sisters, Marian Corbin, Rouine Sirstin, and Eleanor Bossout. A memorial celebrating Steve's life is scheduled for Friday, July 24, 2015 from 4 pm to closing at Chico's Pizza in Moses Lake, Wash. Another celebration will be held in the Tri-Cities, Wash. for his co-workers of Hanford, date to be determined.

Like the song once recorded by Frank Sinatra says...Steve lived his life...."His Way."
