| July 9, 2015 1:45 PM

May 12, 1995 - July 4, 2015

Austin Clay Montgomery, son of Beau and Monica Montgomery of Moses Lake, went to the arms of Jesus on July 4, 2015. Austin was born May 12, 1995 in Beaufort, South Carolina. He attended Midway, Larson Heights and Peninsula Elementary schools in Moses Lake. Austin lived in Spokane for the past several years where he got the support and education he needed for his disabilities. Most recently, he was a student at Lewis and Clark High School in the A.B.L.E Program. Austin's autism kept him from communicating, but it was clear how much he loved the Muppets. His favorites started with Elmo and progressed to Kermit the Frog. He wore Kermit hats, shoes and shirts every day. People knew him by his Kermit look, which made people smile. Some of his favorite activities were taking drives, solving math problems, "singing" with hip-hop music and stocking shelves at Rite Aid. However, most of all he loved watching Muppet movies. Kermit the Frog and Fraggle Rock were his favorites. Austin's body and mind interfered with happiness on many occasions, but his laugh was infectious. He touched the lives of many teachers, caregivers and therapists who had the pleasure of trying to help him. His family visited him frequently and never gave up on helping him live a happier life too. He is survived by his parents Beau and Monica Montgomery and siblings Marshall, Ridge, Todd, Evelyn and Natalie. He is also survived by grandparents Vernon and Annabelle Scriven of Moses Lake and Robyn Montgomery of Mt. Vernon, WA. He has many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him too. He was preceded in death and welcomed into heaven by his sister Annie Jane Montgomery and grandpa Monty Montgomery. Celebration of his life will be on Friday, July 10, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Grace Harvest Church. Viewing is scheduled between 10 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. at Kayser's Chapel. Sign online guestbook at www.kayserschapel.com. Instead of flowers, donations may be made in Austin's name to the Isaac Foundation, which helps families of children with autism. Their address is P.O. Box 19202, Spokane, WA 99219
