John David Steendahl

April 24, 1947 - June 30, 2015

John D. Steendahl, 68, of Ephrata, Wash., passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 30 at his home.

John was born in Seattle, Wash. on April 24, 1947, the son of Bob and Audrey Steendahl. He married Clara Rose Robinson on September 3, 1971 at Richmond Beach Lutheran Church, Shoreline, Wash. John graduated from the University of Washington in Electrical Engineering and worked his entire 26-year career in the Grant County PUD. He enjoyed hiking, canoeing, and homesteading/domestic project management. He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his wife Clara Rose; son John and his wife Rachel of Seattle; son Matt and his wife Christine; five grandchildren: Igor, Ryan, Christian, Dane, and Annika of Illinois; his mother; his sister Claire Kelly, and two nephews: Trevor and David Kelly.

John took comfort in the words of our Lord and Savior: "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die."

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Living Word Lutheran Church, Moses Lake. Funeral service to be held at Living Word Lutheran Church, 2609 W Broadway Ave, Moses Lake, Wash. on Tuesday, July 7 at 2 p.m. Arrangements are under the care of Nicoles Funeral Home of Ephrata, Wash.
