Marlene Peterson Culver
Marlene went home to be with the Lord on January 24, 2015. She was born in Scranton, North Dakota on November 27, 1931 to Roy and Ione Peterson. She had two older sisters, Ramona Johnson and Gloria Deutscher. She graduated from Scranton High School in 1949. After living in Scranton for 26 years, she moved to Burbank, California and worked at Security First National Bank as a bookkeeper. She married John Culver in 1961 and they raised one son, Kerry. They spent most of their 53 years of marriage following John's line of work, ironworking.
Over the years she enjoyed dancing, gardening, playing cards, crocheting, fishing, prospecting and studying Christian prophecy. When John and Marlene moved to Moses Lake in 2010, weekly family game nights became a tradition, and she always made sure to have a stockpile of treats prepared. She kept in touch with family and her numerous friends through frequent letter writing and phone calls.
She is survived by her husband John Culver, son Kerry Culver and his wife Patti, three grandchildren; Adrienne Culver, Andy Culver and Daniel Culver and his wife Courtney, one great-grandson Aiden Culver and one great-granddaughter Makenzy Culver, her sister Ramona and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by an infant daughter, her parents, her sister Gloria and her brothers-in-law Doug Deutscher, and Wayne Johnson.
Marlene had a servant's heart and though we know that she longed to be with her Lord and Savior, she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
