Perfecto "Pat" Cantu, 78, longtime Moses Lake resident, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in his home in Moses Lake, WA. He was born April 19, 1936 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Nazario and Amalia Martinez Cantu. Pat, as he was known met and married Heriberta "Betty" Manzanales on March 21, 1959 in Lubbock, Texas. They moved to Moses Lake, WA in 1966, and he worked for Sunspice Inc. for more than 20 years before retiring. He loved fishing, going to yard sales with Betty, playing his guitar, and he took great pride in his lawn and garden. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He is survived by daughter Mary Carrara of Houston, TX, son Joe and his wife Stephanie Cantu , daughter Maria "Margie" Cantu Bailey, all of Moses Lake, WA, daughter Catarina "Cathy" and her husband Ben Erickson of Nine Mile Falls, WA; grandchildren Andrea, Katrina, Aaron, Jeanie, Neal, Angela, Amalia, Jonathan, Christina, Jeremy, Dara, Victoria, Michael, Margarita, Brandon, Kendra, Kaylee and Jesse; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Heriberta M. "Betty" Cantu and one daughter Anita Cantu Lemmon. Viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 9:30 - 10:15 a.m with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:00 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 200 N. Dale Rd., Moses Lake, WA. A luncheon will immediately follow the Mass in the Fatima (CCD) Center.
