MOSES LAKE - The Lioness Club of Moses Lake recently made a contribution of supplies to Grant County Animal Outreach after the shelter reached out to the club for support.

"We are absolutely thankful for the gifts that the Lioness brought to us," Grant County Animal Outreach's Carmon Dertig said. "It will provide a lot of comfort and enjoyment for the animals."

The Lioness Club purchased and bedding, canned and dry food for dogs and cats, and cleaning and medical supplies. The weight of the food alone was more than 200 pounds.

"Most of us are pet owners and we love giving back to organizations in our community," Lioness Frogg McMains said.

The purpose of the Lioness Club of Moses Lake is to foster a spirit of interest, friendliness and helpfulness among its members.

It is a non-profit organization with ongoing projects such as scholarships and numerous other donations given to the local community, all funded by the club's efforts at the Spaceburger Booth at the Grant County Fairgrounds.
