Lola Gwen Roylance Cole

March 31, 1930 - Jan. 10, 2015

Lola Gwen Roylance Cole, 84, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015, with her family by her side. Lola was born March 31, 1930 in Salem, Idaho to George Edmond and Mable Clair Valentine Roylance. She was the sixth of nine children.

At age 4, George and Mable moved their family to Meridian, Idaho. Lola had a wonderful childhood growing up in a close-knit family, devoted to each other and their faith, working alongside each other on the farm.

When Lola was a junior in High School, she went to a dance, where Stanley Cole, who had just returned from the Army, was also in attendance. While he had been away Lola had grown up. Her parents encouraged the relationship because of his sweetness and concern for his mother. Stan asked Lola to marry him on Easter Sunday, and she married the love of her life in the Salt Lake City, Utah LDS Temple September 30, 1948, for all eternity. They settled on a farm in Meridian, Idaho in a new home Stan had built for them. They had seven children while living there. In February, 1961, Stan and Lola moved their family to Warden, Washington, where they started a dairy farm near Highway 17 and have lived there since. Four more children were born while living in Warden.

Lola was a devoted wife to Stan, helping him on the farm with keeping the books, driving beet truck, hauling hay, working in the Ranchero, a family business, and raising their eleven children. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Warden Ward, where she served in many callings, and attended the temple as often as possible. Lola loved her many grandchildren and would travel great distances to attend their graduations, weddings, baby blessings, and baptisms. She was dearly loved and admired by her family.

Lola was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley T Cole; Son, Scott R. Cole; parents, George and Mable Roylance; sisters, Clea Nelson, Verla Flick, and Grace Pickerd; brother Bert Roylance; two grandchildren, Garrett Cole and Nicole Shippen.
