Dec. 14, 1920 - Dec. 30, 2014

Burton Louis Pearson entered the realms of heaven on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the age of 94.  He was born to Arthur and Leona Pearson on December 14, 1920 and was the 7th of 14 children.  He was born at the family home in Round Butte, Montana and grew up on the family farm helping with all that was involved in keeping the large family fed and clothed during the hard days of the depression.

Burton answered the call for duty when the war broke out in 1941 and enlisted in the Navy.  He was involved in seven major battles during WWII and witnessed many things that were hard to endure.  However, God had his hand on his life and Burton finished a four-year tour of duty.  He entered Northwest University (then called Northwest Bible Institute) in Seattle and studied for the ministry.  Burton had a passion for the Lord and for preaching the Word of God.  He met his wife Betty at the institute and they were married in 1949.  Burton and Betty pastored for over 30 years in churches in Montana, Oregon and Washington, faithfully serving the congregations and communities in which they lived. After retirement, Burton enjoyed fishing, hunting, building wooden toys, camping, and working on small engines.  He could fix anything.   Burton and Betty enjoyed 59 years of marriage.  He finished well.

Burton is preceded in death by his parents,13 siblings and his wife Betty.  He is survived by three children, Larry (Loretta) Pearson, Colville; Linda (Deverett) Butrick, Moses Lake; and Robert (Dana) Pearson in Shelton. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed but we celebrate his home going and the joy he is now experiencing in heaven.  Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Peninsula Community Church, 2403 W. Texas Street in Moses Lake.  Private graveside services will be held at Pioneer Memorial Gardens.  Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory, Moses Lake.  You may sign the guestbook or leave a note for the family at www.kayserschapel.com.
