1921-2014

Lawrence H. Poff, 93, a longtime Moses Lake resident, went to be with our Lord and his wife, Evelyn, on Monday, December 29, 2014. Larry was born on August 6, 1921 to Elizabeth Marie and Samuel R. Poff in Chebanse, Illinois. He died peacefully at home with his family in attendance.

Pop, as he was known to his children, was a career Air Force man. He first flew as a radio operator and flew missions during WWII, the Berlin Airlift, and the Korean and Vietnamese wars. Pop was stationed at various air bases during his career and was stationed at Larson Air Force Base in Moses Lake in l961 and returned to Moses Lake after retiring from the Air Force.

Pop was deeply loved, admired and respected by all his family and friends. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He was possessed of a sharp wit and always loved a smart comeback. He is survived by three children; Larry, Barbara, and Mike, all of Moses Lake; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all of us.

At his request, no funeral services will be held. Visitation for family and friends will take place at Kayser's Chapel of Memories on Friday, January 2, 2015 from noon to 5 p.m. Interment and private burial services will be held at a later date in Pioneer Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory. Please sign the online guestbook or leave a note for the family at www.kayserschapel.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Relay for Life or the donor's favorite charity.
