Robert 'Red' Nailor

Robert "Red" Nailor, 85, a resident of Moses Lake since 1968 passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 at Faith Larkin Adult Home Care. A celebration of Red's life will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 23, 2015 at Kayser's Chapel of Memories with Dr. Paul Wagner, officiating.

Red was born on Feb. 1, 1930 in Colville, Washington, the son of Franklin and Corinne Nailor. He was raised in the old town of Marcus until it was flooded by the back waters of Grand Coulee Dam forcing a move to Kettle Falls, Washington.

While working construction, he met the love of his life, Roberta Reed in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and they married on Feb. 17,1954. Relocating from place to place, they moved with their children to the Pacific Northwest following construction jobs, including work at O'Sullivan and Coulee Dams and Scootney Reservoir before settling in Moses Lake the summer of 1968. Red took employment with Full Circle (Cenex) in 1972, where he logged 1.8 million miles on his semi truck throughout Central Washington. After retirement, in the late 1990's, Red and Roberta toured the country in their RV taking in all the sights from the Baja of Mexico, to the Glaciers in Alaska, the fall colors of New England states, to the country music sounds of Nashville, Tennessee. Snow birding at their place in Yuma, Ariz. along with many of friends they met along the way.

Red is survived by one son, Frank Nailor one daughter, Dee Nailor-Marshall, both of Moses Lake; sister, Betty (Jule) Potestio of Kettle Falls, WA. Red will be missed by granddaughters, Teresa (Andy) Gonsalez, Leah Nailor, one great grandson, Devin Gonsalez, all of Moses Lake.

Red was preceded in death by his wife of over 5 decades, Roberta "Bert" Nailor, brothers, Donald, Ray, Jim Nailor and one great grandson, Tanner Gonsalez.
