MOSES LAKE - The Moses Lake Police Department released the names of the suspect and victim in a shooting which injured two people in Moses Lake on Sunday.

Police arrested Argimiro Flores, 21, of Moses Lake, for allegedly shooting Freddy Olivares, 30, of Moses Lake, and a 17-year-old Moses Lake boy. The boy was identified as Adrian Martinez by a family friend.

Capt. David Sands said as of last night Olivares and Martinez are expected to live.

About 2:30 p.m. Olivares and Martinez were allegedly involved in a physical fight with Flores on the Alder Fill, in Moses Lake. Flores reportedly shot Olivares and Martinez during the incident.

Flores fled the scene on a bicycle and was followed by a witness until officers arrested him in the 200 block of Earl Road in Moses Lake.

Flores was booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder.

Sands said the investigation into the shooting is ongoing and it is not known if it was gang related.

A family friend of Adrian Martinez, Michael Mende of Moses Lake, told the Columbia Basin Herald his late son Brandon Mende was allegedly in the same gang as Martinez. Brandon Mende was shot and killed in Moses Lake last year.
