Margaret 'Maggie' Blackman Wilson

Margaret "Maggie" Blackman Wilson, 68, lifelong Moses Lake resident, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015 in Samaritan Healthcare due to complications after suffering a hip fracture. Maggie was born Sept. 4, 1946 in Ritzville, Wash. to Andrea Nell and Allen Hicks.

She graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1965 and Big Bend Community College with an associate of arts degree. Maggie married Warren Blackman in 1971. Warren died in 1981. Maggie worked at Big Bend Community College as a lab assistant in the I.T. Dept. until her retirement. She loved to travel with her loving companion of more than 30 years Joe Wilson; talk on the phone with her family, and most recently joining in the activities at the Moses Lake Senior Center. She loved to shop. She would justify the things she bought with "But it was on sale!" She also enjoyed listening to the Christian Broadcast Network and collecting M.I. Hummel figurines.

Maggie was preceded in death by her father Allen Hicks and mother Andrea Hicks, son Tim McCourt, and husband Warren Blackman.

She is survived by her loving life partner Joe Wilson; brothers Allen Hicks, Rusty Hicks, her twin sister Marilyn Cummins, and Marjorie Homberg; daughter Tamara Medrano, granddaughter Aubrey Medrano and grandson Caleb Medrano; step-children Desiree Kohl, Rene Houston, Monica Castleberry, Peri Jo Williamson, Jim Wilson and Robert Wilson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many, many friends, all who will miss her dearly.

Maggie will be interred in Pioneer Memorial Gardens, Moses Lake, Wash. at a later date.
