Jose Quintero Mendoza, 74, a Royal City resident since 1980 passed away Thursday, Dec. 17, 2015 at Columbia Crest surrounded by family. Viewing will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015 at Kayser’s Chapel. Holy Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 23 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Royal City, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Royal Memorial Gardens. Jose was born on March 1, 1941 in Jalisco, Mexico, son of Ignacio Quintero and Eufracia Mendoza. He was raised in Mexico and came to the United States in 1967 and settled in California. He was married to Maria Renteria in 1967. They moved to Royal City, Wash. in 1980 where they have resided since. Jose worked as a farm laborer. He enjoyed music, fishing, hunting and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Maria Quintero; children, Jose Quintero, Patty Madrigales, Gloria Ramirez, Susana Villafana, Shelly Murillo, Silvia Toro, Brenda Quintero and Wendy Quintero; 34 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and other family members including siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
