July 28, 1952 - August 19, 2015

Olive Faith McCreary, a much-beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend, was called home on Aug. 19, 2015 after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer. Born on July 28, 1952 in Wenatchee, Olive was the fifth child of Ross and Clara McCreary and was raised in Quincy, graduating from Quincy High School in 1970. Following high school, Olive attended Eastern Washington University, graduating Beta Gamma Sigma with degrees in Accounting and Business Management. After graduating she worked for the Bureau of Reclamation for many years.

Olive's greatest joy was her son, Jason. She was a dedicated mother whose love will be felt for a lifetime. Even after her cancer diagnosis, her compassionate and caring nature never waned, and she continued to take care of everyone she loved, despite her tiring and aggressive treatment.

Olive is survived by her son Jason McCreary, siblings, Ross (Beverly) McCreary, John McCreary, Dave (Debbie) McCreary, Naomi Mason and James (Kim) McCreary; nieces and nephews, John, Tami, Tim, Heather, Aaron, Jana, Jennifer, Christian, David, Summer, Jeremy and Payton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Clara, and by an older brother Aaron.

The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and staff that cared for her at The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Central Washington Hospital and Columbia Crest Center.

"Just as you watched over us here on Earth, you will continue to watch over us from Heaven." Love always, your son, Jason.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2015 from the Faith Community Church, Quincy with concluding services to follow in the Quincy Valley Cemetery.

Please leave a memory for the family or sign their online guestbook at www.scharbachs.com. Scharbach's Columbia Funeral Chapel, Quincy, is assisting the family with arrangements.
