Elise Renae Mittelstadt

| August 18, 2015 1:45 PM

August 5, 2009 - August 10, 2015

Elise Renae Mittelstadt went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Aug. 10, 2015 in Spokane, Wash., five days after her sixth birthday following a cancer diagnosis two months prior.

Elise was born to Robert and Rebecca Mittelstadt on Aug. 5, 2009. She was happily welcomed into the family joining her sister Adelynn Grace as the second of two daughters.

Due to a number of medical challenges that accompanied Elise at birth, she spent a good deal of her early life in the hospital as a newborn and also accompanying multiple surgeries and periodic illnesses. Despite these obstacles, Elise possessed a bright, loving smile and a well-developed sense of humor for her age. She was very affectionate and surprisingly strong-willed and independent.

Elise was gifted in many ways, being able to learn sign language at a young age as well as being an accomplished reader by the age of five. Elise was registered to begin kindergarten at Sage Point Elementary School this fall where she was already well known, having attended weekly speech therapy sessions starting at the age of three. She loved to paint, play with Play-Dough and have fun with her sister.

Elise is survived by her sister Adelynn, parents Robert and Rebecca, her maternal grandparents Maurice and Helen Blake of Ridgefield, Wash., and paternal grandparents William and Nancy Mittelstadt of Moses Lake, Wash., as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of Elise's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, Aug. 24, 2015 at the Lake City Foursquare Church, 333 N. Central Drive. Burial preceded services at Guarding Angels Cemetery, Moses Lake. Please sign the online guestbook or leave a note for the family at www.kayserschapel.com. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory.
