Donald D. Hunnicutt

Donald D. Hunnicutt, 89, longtime Moses Lake resident, died Sunday, August 2, 2015 in Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee, Wash. He was born May 10, 1926 in Holbrook, Neb. to Katherine "Minnie" (Warner) and Thomas B. Hunnicutt.

Donald married Helen Larsen on October 25, 1946 in Ainsworth, Neb. He lived in Springview, Neb., Hood River, Ore., Ridgefield, Wash., Spokane, Wash., Angels Camp, Calif., and Moses Lake, Wash., mostly due to his work building roads - he worked to build many of the original roads here in Moses Lake. He was a member of the Operating Engineers for 55 years. He enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with his family and friends. He was an active member of the Moses Lake Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Helen of Moses Lake, Wash., daughter Bonnie of Van Nuys, Calif., sister-in-laws Doris Humphrey and Ardella Larsen, both of Moses Lake, Wash., grandson Michael Canon of Van Nuys, Calif., granddaughter Krystal Shirley, great-granddaughter Kendra Shirley and great-grandson Skylar Shirley, all of Spokane, Wash.; nieces Donna Britton of Spokane, Wash. and Dora Lee Breckenridge of Warden, Wash.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Minnie Hunnicutt, brothers Veryl, Merle and Dick Hunnicutt. sister Anita Farmer and one daughter.

Viewing will be Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 1 to 6 p.m. in Carver Family Funeral Home, 1217 E. Wheeler Rd. Moses Lake, Wash.

Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Moses Lake Baptist Church, 4334 Joann Dr. NE, Moses Lake, Wash. Burial with military honors will held Friday August 7, 2015 at 11:15 a.m. in the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, Medical Lake, Wash.
