Ella Mae (Hilliard) Austin

June 12, 1919 - July 27, 2015

Ella Mae passed away at the age of 96 on July 27, 2015, at home in Yelm, Washington. She was born and raised in Ericson, Nebraska to Lloyd Raymond and Ethel Mae Hilliard.

Ella Mae married Albert "Hynie" Austin on April 16, 1941, and they had 60 years of happiness together. They had two children, a son Albert Dennis and a daughter Cheryl Darlene. They lived in Moses Lake for over a total of 39 years, and moved to Olympia to be near family in 1999.

Ella Mae retired from J.C. Penney in Tacoma, Washington in 1978. She was a member of Sandy Sams in Moses Lake. She leaves Dennis Austin (Dora), Cheryl Webster (Gary); grandchildren Cari (Webster) Kovats (Mark), John Austin, Chad Webster (Nichole); great grandsons Cameron and Cody Kovats, Ryder Webster; great granddaughters Teagan Webster, Catherine Kovats; brother Ken Hilliard of Mansfield, Mo.; sisters Jo Ann Hilliard and Radene Webb (Bob) of Pendleton, Ore.; a dear friend, Emily Webster, who was like a daughter; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends whom she cared for deeply. She was preceded in death by Hynie; brothers Lloyd (Bub) and Don Hilliard; sisters Naomi Loper and Alice Derrick.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, August 10 at New Tacoma Cemetery with a reception to follow at the Chambers Creek Chapel. Please express your thoughts and memories for the family at www.newtacoma.com.
