Wahluke falls in tennis

MATTAWA - The young Wahluke High School tennis teams continued to struggle last week falling 5-0 in girls and boys competition.

But there was some positive news in a couple of the girls sets and one of the boys sets.

In the girls No. 2 singles match, Marivel Nevarez battled Rebecca Pierit to a 6-6 score before losing the tie-breaker 6-0 and the second set 6-1.

In the girls No. 3 doubles match, Elizabeth Bravo and Janeth Ramirez worked a 6-6 tie against Addie Bagwell and Audrie Bagwell before dropping the tie-breaker, 4-7. The kept up the pressure in a 4-6 loss in the second set.

In No. 1 boys singles, Johnny Mullen gave Pat Hadly a tough go before falling 7-5, 6-2.
