Jean McAlexander

| April 24, 2015 1:45 PM

November 30, 1935 - April 17, 2015

Jean (Woyak) McAlexander passed away at the age of 79, from pancreatic cancer. She died peacefully at home in Moses Lake, Wash. on Friday, April 17, 2015, at 4:00 a.m. She loved God, her husband Wayne, and her family with all her heart. Her favorite color was red, and she was fond of all flowers! She was involved in the Zillah Garden Club for several years, and also with the Red Hat Ladies and a ladies' group called Birds of a Feather.

Jeannie didn't know any strangers. In fact, strangers would come up to her at the grocery store or the doctor's office and tell this pretty little lady how cute she was or how pretty she was dressed. If someone said she and Dad looked like a nice couple, Dad would later say that it was because of Mom because she always dressed so nice. She was always so generous with her compliments and loved to encourage people.

She and Dad enjoyed being greeters at church and didn't let anyone slip in unnoticed but would give them a real good handshake and smile. When she and Dad moved to Moses Lake on Sept. 11, 2014, the instant she met the neighbor lady, they bonded. Dad would say, "Jeannie was just that way, and made everyone feel at home around her." We will miss our mom, wife, grandma, and sweet friend dearly.

She is survived by her husband, Wayne McAlexander, their children Steven McAlexander, Connie Suehiro and husband Mike, Tammy Johnson and husband Joe, five grandchildren, Aaron, Micah, and Daniel Johnson, and Hannah and Joshua Suehiro, her sisters Ruth Reisenaur and Naomi Steward, and several nephews and nieces.

Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Zillah Nazarene Church in Zillah, Wash., where she and Wayne raised their children, made many friends, and lived for 40 years.
