Lyle Archie Rilling

Lyle Archie Rilling was born July 10, 1922 in Agar, South Dakota and passed away after a short illness on April 11, 2015. Please sign the online guestbook or leave a note for the family at www.kayserschapel.com. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory, Moses Lake.

Lyle graduated from Pierre High School in South Dakota, joined the Army and fought in World War II in Africa and Europe. He worked in the oil fields in Texas and on the Alaska Railroad as an engineer. While in Alaska, he married and had two daughters. He left Alaska and remarried to Verna Rilling, becoming a 55-year resident of Moses Lake.

He was an accomplished professional, working as a surveyor throughout Washington on many major construction projects, including construction at Grand Coulee Dam, I-90 (Moses Lake to Vantage), and local canals. He retired as the co-owner of a local pool and awning business where he constructed many local swimming pools.

He enjoyed playing cards and cribbage with friends. He loved going to the casino.

He loved to travel throughout the US, Europe, and China.

Lyle is survived by his daughters; Margaret Abercrombie and Elizabeth Staley, sons; David Murray and Scott Murray, and 10 grandchildren.

A Veterans Memorial Service will be held in Moses Lake. Date to be determined.
