Proven ability and experience

| September 26, 2014 6:00 AM

I'm pleased to endorse Garth Dano for County Prosecuting Attorney. My wife Dorothy and I knew his father Harry and mother Dorothy , good friends, also from downstate Illinois. Garth's brother Brian has taught real estate law at Big Bend for the Realtors. The Dano family helped me become the first Republican elected to a Grant County office in over 50 years in 1982. Lots of Republicans since then!

Former Prosecutor Paul Kiausen was very well experienced, a friend and great to work with. John Knodell was next, a good attorney and had extensive experience In both criminal and civil matters. John trained a good staff before he was appointed Superior Court Judge. Seven of the county's assistant prosecutors and the administrative assistant petitioned the Commissioners to not appoint Angus Lee as John's replacement due to lack of experience.

During the last election, I supported Albert Linn for the job; he had 9 years In the office and had the support of the staff. I thank Angus for his military service, but it's not in the legal area.

Garth Dano has the proven ability and experience, and is willing to serve the County, improving our Courts and saving us money in criminal and civil cases.
