SOAP LAKE - A man from Moses Lake died on Sunday after a collision on his motorcycle.

Richard Hathaway, 68, of Moses Lake, was driving a 2001 Honda Motorcycle south on state Route 17, about one mile south of Soap Lake. That is when he collided with a 2013 KIA Soul driven by James Budd, 46, of Ephrata, who was driving east on Road 19 Northeast.

Budd reportedly didn't yield at the Road 19 and the SR 17 intersection, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Budd and his two juvenile passengers were not injured in the accident.

Hathaway's motorcycle and Budd's vehicle were damaged and towed from the scene.

The cause of the accident was Budd failing to yield at the intersection, according to the patrol.

Budd was cited for not yielding and driving with no insurance.
