Burn ban lifted in Grant County

| September 24, 2014 6:05 AM

EPHRATA - You can burn now, but check the rules first. Burn barrels are still not okay.

Due to cooler temperatures and moisture accompanying early fall weather, there has been a reduction in the overall fire hazard.

The Grant County Board of Commissioners and the County Fire Marshal decided on Sept. 8 to lift the County Wide Burn Ban, effective immediately.

Although the ban is lifted, the fire marshall reminds you that the use of burn barrels is strictly prohibited. In addition, only natural vegetation may be burned (no household garbage).

For information regarding this notice, you may contact the Commissioners' office at (509) 754-2011 ext. 428 or the Fire Marshal's office at ext. 344.
