State pitches in for AeroTEC project

| September 19, 2014 7:57 AM

OLYMPIA— The state Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB) is helping the Port of Moses Lake prepare for the construction of AeroTEC’s new 65,000 square foot, wide body aircraft hangar.

The board recently approved a $500,000 loan to the port, which will be used to install water and sewer lines and relocate ramp lighting, among other things, at the Grant County International Airport.

The work will allow AeroTEC to move forward with construction of the hangar. Company officials announced in July they would be building the hangar to accommodate flight testing of Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation's new MRJ 90 airliner.

The port is matching CERB’s investment with $125,000 in local funds to complete the hangar, which AeroTEC is investing an estimated $8 million to build.
