EPHRATA, Wash. (AP) - Fire crews were battling a wildfire in Grant County that officials say was threatening a dozen homes.

Fire officials said in a news release late Saturday that there had so far been no evacuations.

The so-called Trinidad Fire had charred about 1,500 acres.

Officials say Washington State Patrol Chief John Batiste authorized the mobilization of state firefighting resources to fight the blaze late Saturday afternoon.

There was no immediate word about any damages, what caused the blaze or details of any containment.
