Alice was born June 21, 1940 in San Antonio, Texas to Emilio Lopez and Feliz Herrera. As an infant she went to Mexico to be raised by her grandfather Vidal and Rosa Garcia.

She was educated in La Escuela De Benito Juarez where she played a drum in band and performed in front of others. In 1959, she met Francisco Maritinez Gamez in Crystal City, Texas where they immediately fell in love. Two years after dating they knew they wanted to spend a lifetime together and got married on March 24, 1961. They then began their life together and worked as migrant farm workers, and later established their home in Moses Lake, Washington where she worked as a caregiver for many years.

Alice came to know the lord as her savior at the age of 30 at the Sendero De La Cruz church, and later was an active church member at the Assembly of God church where she was involved in the choir, nursery, drama presentations, and prayer team. Alice was a strong Christian woman and a woman of faith. She believed in the power of prayer and was always praying for others no matter how big or small the need.

During her down time, Alice enjoyed spending time with her husband. She enjoyed going to Walmart to shop and to meet new people, and going out to eat. She also liked watching the Laker's and the Mariner's games, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren: Ricardo, Rosa, and Carlos.

Gamez, one brother Alex and Kyong Valdez of Texas, two sisters, Carmen Serna of Indiana, Rosa Aldape of Texas, three children, Deborah Molina (Carlos), Frank Gamez, Jr., and Ricardo Gamez (Decorah).
