Phyllis J. Ebel

Phyllis J. Ebel passed quietly in her sleep with love and prayers on Friday, Aug.22, 2014.

A little girl, was born to Marco and Minnie (Olsen) Poli, on November 4, 1928, looking just like her daddy! Phyllis joined her much older siblings: Lawrence, Iene, Bernice, and LeEster. With years separating the siblings one of her best friend's was her little dog "Puggie".

Marco and Minnie farmed and owned the family farm in Neppel (Moses Lake) Wash. The Poli Farm was the property from the "Best Western Hotel on Marina Drive toward town. There is a two story older home on Marina Drive that was built by Marco during his farming days for his family.

February 10, 1934 changed the life of 5 year old Phyllis, her Dad was killed in a farming accident on their farm, she grew up without a Father's love. Phyllis worked hard by her mother's side in potato sheds, and on their farm.

In 1949 Mom started dating the love of her life, Harold Ebel, a home town boy who had returned from the Navy after serving in WWII. On September 24, 1949 they married and had two children; daughter, Jan L. in 1952, and son, Hal M. in 1956.

Mom loved being a stay at home wife and mother, she was always there when we needed her. She participated in many school PTA activities for us kids. A fantastic cook, she baked everything from scratch, even when camping! She loved doing ceramics, arranging flowers, baking deserts, decorating cakes, and taking care of her yard of many flowers.

Mom and Dad were "Charter Members" of "Moses Lake Golf and Country Club"; members of "The Eagles", "Moose", "VFW", and "Elks" Clubs. They loved to Ballroom Dance and were even asked to go on a cruise to instruct dancing.

When Mom and Dad started going south in the winter they joined "Sunny Sams", a group that they traveled with. Together they danced, played golf (Dad even got hole in 1 once!), visited different places but most of all, enjoyed having a great time with friends and taking it easy, just Mom, Dad and "Ginger", their small dog companion. As they got older they stopped going south and enjoyed their beautiful lakefront home they built together on Marina Dr. many years ago. Here they enjoyed many breath taking Sunsets, views of Mt Rainier, and time together.

On April 7, 2006 Dad passed away. He was a professional plasterer and tile setter. Dad was the 2nd man to leave Mom, just like her Father had so many year before. Mom never got over loosing "her soul mate." Mom is now pain free, and together once again with Dad.

She was preceded in death by Harold, her loving Husband of 55 years D2004; father-Marco D1934 and mother-Minnie D1987; brother- Lawrence Poli D1988 and three sisters-Iene Poli D1917, Bernice Hansen D2014 and LeEster Adams D2008.

Mom is survived by daughter Jan and husband Jim Craghead (Moses Lake, WA) and son Hal and wife Cindy Ebel (Newman Lake, WA), grandchildren: Marc, Michael and David Ebel.

The family wishes to thank everyone who took care of Mom. Everyone worked so hard! Thank you to Summer Wood, her home for 3 years; Dr Simon and the Moses Lake Community Health Center staff; Hospice and staff at the Central Washington Hospital; Dr. Thomas Tuszynski; Jeff Wilson of Heritage Memorial Chapel in East Wenatchee and all who prayed for Mom.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, September 11, 2014, at 2:00P.M at the Moses Lake United Methodist Church, 746 S. Ironwood Dr., Moses Lake, WA. Donations to the Alzheimer's Association is greatly appreciated. We miss you both, Mom and Dad, forever and for always and a day. God bless you both, your loving family.
