MOSES LAKE - An unidentified man was shot by police officers following a confrontation on West Broadway Avenue in Moses Lake.

About 10:50 a.m. on Friday police responded to a call at 2709 W. Broadway Ave. and encountered a man in a parking in front of Guido's Pizza.

The man posed an immediate threat to the responding officers and was shot, said Kyle Foreman, public information officer for the Grant County Sheriff's Office.

The man was immediately transported to Samaritan Hospital, but as his condition worsened, was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

All businesses in the parking lot of the 2700 block of Broadway Avenue, except for the Lep-re-kon Harvest Food, were closed until the responding agencies concluded their investigations later in the day.

The Columbia Basin Investigation Team will investigate the shooting, said Ken Jones, field operations chief with the sheriff's office.

More information on the shooting, including the name of the suspect and the officers involved, was expected to be released Monday after the Columbia Basin Herald's print deadline.
