Linda M. (Johnston) Galyan

Linda M. (Johnston) Galyan Was called home in the early morning hours on August 16 2014. In West St.Paul, MN, at the age of 67 from complications of diabetes.

Linda was born April 14, 1947 in Caldwell, Idaho to Lloyd and Margaret Johnston. In 1956 the family moved to Moses Lake, she attended Lakeview Elementary, Chief Moses Jr. High, and graduated with the Class of "65" from Moses Lake High. She traveled a while, then returned home.

She married Kelcy Galyan in 1968; together they had two sons and made their home in Cupertino CA. Linda worked for the Siemens Corporation inspecting silicon chips, then became the document clerk, and then was promoted to Manager of Document Control. She was well known at work for her event planning skills, her sense of humor, big smile. and her laughter. She made many long lasting friendships during the years she worked for Siemens. She attended college in the evenings, earning her degree in Graphic Design.

After the death of her husband, she sold her home to retire in Yuba City, CA. Despite her failing health, she continued to work on her many hobbies. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, music, movies, crossword puzzles, needlework, painting and crafts. She was gifted in all. She cherished her family, and her three dogs, Jessie, Bodie and Shenandoah. Linda donated to many charities, Veterans Administration, Native American Society, ASPCA and others.

Linda is survived by her sons, Tony (Sheyna) Galyan, grandsons Yoni and Daniel of St. Paul MN. Jeff Galyan of Los Angeles, CA. Sisters LaVonne (Rich) Kennedy, LaVerne (Jim) Stillwell. Katherine (Rick) McClelland-Light. Gayle (Joe) Varney, Ruby Johnston all of Moses Lake. LaRaine Rosenow of Fife WA. Merry Kay (Bob) Allen of Caldwell ID. Brother Phillip Vasai of Temecula CA, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband Kelcy Galyan, parents Lloyd and Velma Johnston, Margaret Vasai, grandparents and four nephews. Two of her pets.
